Dear Jessica Brennan,
Our friend Rique got this reminder on Monday telling her that today is my birthday. It said:
Sharon Brennan is turning age 82 Friday, October 28
Wow time flies. It seems like just yesterday I was 54. If my math is correct that makes you now what, 60? Anything new?
Dad and company still look about the same. They only play matinees now of course, so they can take in the early bird special at the Swiss Chalet after the shows.
I asked for an iPhone94SxL for my birthday but dad says he thinks I should keep my iPhone93.Z until they fix the bug in the barber app. I guess that’s true. His one eyebrow took a beating last time we used it. It flipped over to the glue gun app without warning and it was all burning hair and hardening goo. Nasty. For an old guy though he’s got some fight left in him.
We just finished season 56 of the Simpsons. Marge still looks great. We have finally figured some things out. We don’t eat meat. We don’t have transport trucks. We don’t smoke. We don’t have social media. That went with the internet. So yesterday.
It looks like Sasha Obama-Trump is following in her mother’s footsteps and will win the presidency by a landslide. (Sorry. Too soon?)
In truth, 82 is not so bad. Although as Grandpa likes to say, “getting old isn’t for sissies”.
Occasionally you text us to try to have “the talk” about selling the house and moving somewhere more sensible for people of our vintage. We just respond with “love you”.
Okay gotta run. I need to party like I’ve just turned 79.
Love Mum xo
